Two-day conference at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on closing the gap between AI education research and classroom practice, with keynotes from NVIDIA, University College Dublin and Nanyang Technological University.
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam hosts the 2026 edition of AI for Education The Netherlands on its Zuidas campus, themed "Research meets Practice: Bridging the Gap between Research and Classroom Implementation".
Four tracks make up the programme:
- Teacher Professional Development and AI Literacy
- Field Reports on adoption in real institutions
- Ethics, Policy and Responsible Implementation
- Future Horizons, including VR, AR and neuro-education
Announced keynotes come from Simon See of the NVIDIA AI Technology Centre, Eleni Mangina of University College Dublin, Bert Bredeweg of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and Y. Cai of Nanyang Technological University. Winners of the HackAStone global student competition are announced on the second day.
The audience spans education researchers, teachers, school leaders and policy people rather than AI engineers specifically.
Registration was not yet open at the time of listing. The link here goes to the official VU conference page, where the registration flow and any fee will be published. Session times were also unannounced. The conference falls after the 25 October clock change, so it runs on CET.
Organized by
Amsterdam research university with active groups in artificial intelligence, knowledge representation and learning analytics. It convenes national conferences bringing AI researchers together with practitioners from education and industry.
