Building Real Software with AI: A Hands-On Workshop

WorkshopFreeBeginnerDevelopersStudentsGeneral

About this event

A free, in-person introduction to building software with AI coding assistants, using tools such as Claude Code to implement features, fix bugs, evaluate generated code, and apply testing, review, and version-control safeguards.

Hands-on AI development

This repeat workshop gives participants practical experience building software with modern AI coding assistants. The program uses Claude Code and related tools to work through real features and bugs while examining both the speed gains and the mistakes that AI-generated code can introduce.

The session emphasizes evaluating output instead of accepting it blindly, with testing, code review, and version control as essential safeguards. It is suitable for regular developers and people exploring software development for the first time. The workshop runs from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Closinglock; Eventbrite registration is currently sold out.
