About this event

A Socratic-style seminar at Epoch Coffee on what role AI should play in society — discussion-driven rather than lecture-based, open to anyone with a view worth arguing.

Part of NextWork's Austin Build & Brew series, this session breaks from the usual demo-and-talk meetup format in favor of a Socratic seminar: a structured group discussion where participants reason through questions together rather than listen to a speaker.

The subject is the role artificial intelligence should play in society — the normative questions that technical meetups typically skip. Expect argument and disagreement as the point of the exercise rather than a failure of it. No particular technical background is assumed; what matters is willingness to engage with the questions seriously.

Hosted by Gauri Suresh and Maya Menon at Epoch Coffee — North Loop, 221 W North Loop Blvd. Registration is through the Luma page.
