Austin | Intro to Harness Engineering | Build & Brew

WorkshopFreeBeginnerDevelopersStudents

About this event

An introductory NextWork Build & Brew night at Lazarus Brewing where attendees build a simple AI agent tool from scratch as a warm-up before the group moves into deeper harness engineering work.

The opening session of NextWork's harness engineering track in Austin, run as part of the Build & Brew series. Harness engineering here refers to the scaffolding around AI models — the tooling, control flow, and integrations that turn a raw model into something that reliably does work.

Rather than starting with theory, the night opens with a quick hands-on project: building a simple agent tool from scratch. It functions as both an icebreaker and a shared baseline, so the group has common ground before later sessions get into more serious harness design.

NextWork specializes in hands-on AI projects, and the format is aimed at builders who learn by doing. Held at Lazarus Brewing Co. East 6th, 1902 E 6th St, hosted by Donald Stolz and Maya Menon. Bring a laptop.
