Austin | Parallel Development with Claude | Build & Brew
About this event
A hands-on NextWork session on running several coordinated streams of AI-agent work against one codebase at once, building a real parallel development workflow from a shared repo.
Building a parallel development workflow
This Build & Brew session from NextWork tackles parallel development with Claude — the practice modern teams use to ship quickly by running several streams of work at once, coordinated by AI agents. It is part of a multi-session hands-on series, and the organizers are explicit that they take each piece at a deliberate pace rather than rushing a demo.
A notable design choice: the session deliberately avoids git worktrees, cloning a full copy of the repository for each lane instead. The organizers argue this gives every stream a clean, independent space and opens up more human-in-the-middle checkpoints — the moments where you step in, steer the agents, and decide where to intervene. You do not need to bring your own project; a shared app repository is provided so everyone starts from the same point.
Aimed at junior to intermediate builders comfortable with the basics. Complete beginners are welcome but should expect a genuine builder's pace. The session runs 5:30–6:30 p.m. downtown at 111 Congress Ave — bring a laptop.
