King's College London conversation with journalist Sarah O'Connor on how AI and automation are changing hiring, management and day-to-day work, and how people can shape a more human working future.
King's College London hosts Financial Times journalist and associate editor Sarah O'Connor for a public conversation on artificial intelligence, automation and working life. The event draws on her reporting about workplaces already affected by AI, including translators reviewing generated output, automated hiring and robotics in warehouses.
The discussion asks not only whether technology changes jobs, but how it changes pace, creativity, fairness and human connection at work. Professor Damian Grimshaw, co-lead of King's AI and Workforce Futures programme, chairs the session. It is aimed at students, workers, researchers, employers and policymakers, and requires no technical background. The university notes that in-person events may be overbooked, so arrive early and confirm registration before travelling.
