Nucleate San Diego Inside Series: State of AI x Biotech
About this event
Panel at Bioterra in Sorrento Valley on where AI is already producing measurable value in biotech R&D, covering foundation models for biology, AI-enabled discovery platforms, lab automation and the experimental validation problem.
Nucleate San Diego opens its Inside Series with this panel, run in partnership with Twist Bioscience, on the gap between AI's promise in biotech and what is actually working in the lab today.
The discussion covers generative and biological foundation models, AI-enabled discovery platforms, synthetic biology, lab automation, and cell and gene therapy applications. A recurring theme is experimental validation: what it takes to trust a computational prediction enough to commit wet-lab resources to it, and where the current technical barriers sit.
Panellist Dr. Edmond Atindaana, Senior Advisor for Novel Platforms at Eli Lilly, is joined by moderator Dr. Jose Olucha of Twist Bioscience.
Nucleate is a trainee-led nonprofit and the event is free. Useful for researchers, and for founders and investors working at the biotech and computation boundary.
Organized by
San Diego chapter of Nucleate, a trainee-led nonprofit that connects early-career life-science researchers with venture creation, running panels on AI in biotech.
