Retrieval vs Inference

MeetupFreeIntermediateDevelopers

About this event

Technical San Diego Software Engineers talk on when strong retrieval instructions and the right information can solve a problem without relying on more model inference.

San Diego Software Engineers hosts Max Moon for a practical discussion of retrieval and inference tasks in AI systems. The session examines why supplying a model with the right instructions and information can often be more valuable than asking it to infer an answer from scratch.

Moon is a software engineer whose background spans infrastructure, DevOps, web-service development and AI, and who is currently a senior engineering manager at Shield AI. The event is suited to engineers designing AI-enabled systems and evaluating retrieval-based approaches.

The meetup takes place at Venture X in Scripps Ranch. The source presents a 5:30pm to 7:30pm schedule. Check Meetup for RSVP availability and any last-minute venue updates.
