About this event

A four-day peer-reviewed IEEE conference in Bellevue under the theme Human-Centric Intelligence, covering artificial intelligence, cognitive computing, autonomous systems, robotics and human-machine interaction.

The IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society brings its flagship annual conference to the Hyatt Regency Bellevue for four days, under the theme Human-Centric Intelligence: Shaping the Digital Future.

This is a peer-reviewed academic conference rather than an industry event, and the technical programme reflects that. Sessions span artificial intelligence, cognitive computing, cyber-physical-social systems, robotics, autonomous systems, human-machine interaction and cybersecurity. The through-line is systems in which humans and machines act together, which puts a distinctly different frame on AI than the applications-focused programming that dominates Seattle's meetup scene.

This is a rare opportunity to attend a conference of this standing without leaving the region.

Registration is tiered. Early bird rates through August 9 ran $950 for SMC members, $1,025 for IEEE members, $1,125 for non-members and $525 for life members, with student rates from $450 to $625. Late registration through September 27 adds $150 to $200. Each accepted paper requires at least one advanced full registration, covering up to two papers. Cancellations by August 30 are refunded minus $300. Daily start and end times were not published, so confirm the schedule before booking travel.
