Creating with AI: Blasphemy or the Next Creative Revolution?
About this event
Afternoon session at Pakhuis de Zwijger from Amsterdam AI and the Centre of Expertise for Creative Innovation, on whether generative AI is a creative partner or a threat to creative practice.
Amsterdam AI and the Centre of Expertise for Creative Innovation convene an afternoon at Pakhuis de Zwijger on what generative tools are doing to creative work.
The framing question is whether AI is a genuine creative collaborator or something that hollows out the practice it touches. Speakers include:
- Christian Byrge, creativity researcher at Vilnius University
- Marleen Stikker, founder of Waag Futurelab
The session is moderated by digital ethics researcher Tessa Mei Duzee and includes showcases of projects built in collaboration with AI systems. Recurring themes are transparency, human values in system design, and keeping the human creator central to the work.
This is a discussion and showcase event rather than a technical session. Registration runs through a form linked from the Amsterdam AI event page.
Organized by
Regional AI coalition bringing together the University of Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam UMC and city partners. It runs public programming on responsible AI, AI in healthcare, education and the creative sector.
