Cursor Austin Grok Hackathon

HackathonFreeIntermediateDevelopersStudents

About this event

A one-day Austin hackathon where solo builders and teams of up to four ship a working project using Cursor and Grok, with online submissions, live judging, and cash prizes for the top three teams.

Cursor's Austin community runs a full-day build sprint from 9am to 5pm. You can arrive with an idea, form a team on site, or pick one of the organizers' prompts. Teams of up to four are welcome, and solo entries are allowed.

The suggested directions are deliberately broad: agents that can reason, plan and take action; tools and automations that improve a real workflow; or anything unexpected. The single constraint is that the project must meaningfully use Cursor and Grok.

The day runs as breakfast and doors, welcome and team formation, a long build block, then online project submission in the mid-afternoon. Judges review the submissions and select three winners, who present live to the room before prizes and closing. The organizers list awards of $1,500 per team member for first place, $1,000 for second and $500 for third.

Registration is free but approval-gated, and the exact address is released to approved guests through Luma rather than published publicly — confirm the location in your confirmation email before you travel.
