Understanding AI
About this event
A free, beginner-friendly workshop for children and teenagers in Schöneweide. Participants train and test a small image-recognition AI, learning how computers classify objects and hand gestures.
This introductory workshop gives young participants a hands-on view of artificial intelligence rather than a lecture about it. They will train and use a small AI system that learns to distinguish objects or hand gestures, with no earlier experience required.
The session is presented by Treptow-Köpenick Public Library with CoderDojo Schöneweide as part of the Understanding AI series. It is primarily designed for children and teenagers aged seven and above. A laptop is requested for the programming activities, although attendees without one can ask the organisers for access to a computer.
The library describes the workshop as mainly German-language, while noting that most mentors also speak English. Regular tickets are currently full, but a free fairness ticket category remains available, alongside guardian tickets. Check the live registration page for availability.
