The UChicago and Caltech Conference on AI+Science 2026

About this event

A three-day research conference at UChicago's David Rubenstein Forum gathering leading core AI and domain science researchers, jointly run with Caltech and sponsored by the Margot and Tom Pritzker Foundation.

The University of Chicago and Caltech bring their joint AI+Science conference to Hyde Park for three days at the David Rubenstein Forum.

The conference is built around the two-way traffic between core AI research and the domain sciences: what new methods make newly tractable in physics, chemistry, biology and climate, and what those fields demand back from AI research. Organizers describe the goal as convening leading researchers across both sides to shape future inquiry, industry investment, foundation projects and entrepreneurial work rather than simply presenting completed results.

The event is sponsored by the Margot and Tom Pritzker Foundation as part of a standing joint initiative between the two universities, and alternates between the Chicago and Pasadena campuses.

This is the most research-dense AI event on Chicago's fall calendar. It is aimed at academic and industrial researchers rather than a general practitioner audience, and the value is heavily in the corridor conversations and cross-disciplinary sessions.

Registration. Separate general and student registration forms are run through the Data Science Institute's conference page, and a registration deadline of August 28, 2026 was posted, so act early if you intend to go. Session-level times had not been published at the time of listing.
