A weekly Mar Vista gathering that combines discussion of generative technology and creative work with an open laptop session for AI, art and vibe-coding projects.
StrangeNew.World's weekly Los Angeles gathering returns to 310 Coffee for a relaxed afternoon of discussion and making. The group brings together artists, technologists and curious newcomers to examine emerging technology through a humanist lens, including generative AI and its effects on creative work.
From 3:00pm to 5:00pm, attendees trade ideas, current news and resources. Beginning at 5:00pm, the event becomes a Hack-a-salon: bring a laptop, art project or work in progress for shared problem solving, informal demonstrations and peer feedback.
The organizers describe the community as welcoming to both enthusiasts and skeptics, experienced creatives and people taking their first steps with vibe coding. Attendance is free; the listed venue is 310 Coffee at 11625 Washington Place in Los Angeles.
