About this event

A two day in person machine learning hackathon for college students at UCLA's James West Alumni Center, run by the LA Hacks student organisation with tracks tied to real world challenges.

LA Hacks, the UCLA student organisation behind one of Southern California's largest collegiate hackathons, runs a dedicated AI and machine learning event across a weekend at the James West Alumni Center in Westwood.

The format is in person only, with participation gated by application and acceptance followed by an RSVP. Teams build against tracks tied to real world problem statements. Submissions require a written project description, a public source repository and a demonstration video of roughly two to three minutes, and teams must be present in person for judging.

Judging criteria are published in advance and weigh technical depth, product thinking and impact, execution quality, and originality. Prizes were listed as still to be determined and non monetary at the time of verification.

This one is specifically for university students. Note that the listing was still early stage when checked, with registration numbers low and details pending, so confirm the schedule before making travel plans.
