Building Dual-Use Companies in the AI Era

NetworkingFreeIntermediateBusinessDevelopers

About this event

An evening on startups that sell to both commercial and government customers, and how AI is changing the way those companies get designed, funded, and scaled. Hosted by Misfit Labs and The LAB Miami with founders and investors working across AI and defense.

As governments invest more heavily in innovation and geopolitical competition accelerates, a growing number of startups are finding they can build technology that serves commercial customers and the public sector at once. This session examines what that actually requires.

The discussion covers why dual-use innovation has become a strategic priority for founders, investors, and governments, and how AI is changing company building from product development and engineering through to go-to-market and scaling. It also addresses what founders should weigh when designing products for both commercial and government buyers, and at what stage government markets are worth thinking about at all.

A useful portion of the agenda is given over to common misconceptions about defense and government markets and what entering them genuinely takes, which is territory most founder events skip. The evolving investment landscape for AI, defense, and dual-use startups is also on the agenda.

Speakers are drawn from founders, investors, and operators working at the intersection of AI, defense, and emerging technology. The exact Wynwood area address is not published on the listing and is shared with attendees after registration, so register in advance.
