Build Your Website Tonight With AI: Complete Beginners
About this event
The 31 August occurrence of the recurring beginner evening where participants build and deploy a live website in two hours by pairing with an AI assistant. Capped at 20 places.
The August 31 occurrence of a recurring Paris workshop for people with no coding background, held in the salle Marie Curie at the Foyer International des Etudiantes on Boulevard Saint-Michel.
Participants work in pairs and direct an AI assistant to write the code for a website, then read and edit that code themselves. The agenda covers a plain-language explanation of how ChatGPT-style models actually work, watching the site get generated live, personalising the design through dialogue with the model, hands-on manual code edits, and publishing the result.
Everyone finishes with a functioning site reachable through a QR code.
The session states no prerequisites at all: if you can send an email, that is enough. A laptop is optional because pairing is possible, but a free GitHub account must be created in advance. This date is capped at 20 participants.
Facilitator Thomas Bourgeois is a civil engineering graduate with roughly twenty years of coding experience, seven of them in AI. The workshop doubles as an on-ramp to the Cours Socrate evening programming course. This is a distinct occurrence from the 24 August and 7 September sessions, each with its own registration.
