IEEE San Diego's Consultants' Network hosts Matthew Zimmer for a practical discussion of how AI specialists create value, the skills non-specialists need to work effectively with them, and peer networking for regional technology consultants.
IEEE San Diego's Consultants' Network meets at Leucadia Pizza UTC for a presentation by systems engineer Matthew Zimmer, also known as the AI Penny Pincher. The session looks at the growing divide between people who use AI casually and specialists who can reliably apply it to real work.
Discussion will cover where specialist knowledge delivers tangible value, how non-specialists can collaborate with AI practitioners, and the mental models useful for making credible AI decisions. It also serves as the network's monthly in-person connection point for independent consultants across engineering, software, communications and technology business development.
