About this event
A three-day hackathon on how AI-generated content accelerates bias, misinformation and disinformation at scale, and what information and records management practice can do in response. Free to enter, judged by an independent industry panel, sponsored by the National Archives of Australia, with a A$10,000 grand prize.
The RIMPA Global Hackathon 2026 sets teams a three-day challenge centred on a records and information management problem: AI-generated content is accelerating bias, misinformation and disinformation at scale, and the discipline needs workable responses.
Judging and prize
Submissions are assessed by an independent industry panel. The grand prize is A$10,000. The event is sponsored by the National Archives of Australia.
Format and schedule
The hackathon is hybrid, but at least one member of each team must attend in person. The published running times are:
- Day 1, Monday 19 October: 07:00 to 17:00
- Day 2, Tuesday 20 October: 08:00 to 14:00
- Day 3, Wednesday 21 October: 16:00 to 23:30
