The second day of the National Consumers League's two-day conference at George Washington University shifts from AI-enabled fraud to artificial intelligence in healthcare.
The subject is consumer protection as AI systems move into clinical settings and medical decision-making: what patients can reasonably expect to know about the systems involved in their care, where accountability sits when an AI-assisted decision goes wrong, and how advocacy and regulation should respond.
As with day one, the audience spans policymakers, consumer advocates, healthcare professionals, industry and technologists, and the format is built for cross-sector argument rather than single-constituency agreement.
