A Berlin community evening on language AI and NLP, featuring talks from Google DeepMind, DeepL and the University of Warwick on machine translation, controllable AI translation and the role of specialist expertise.
Berlin Language AI Meetup brings together local NLP practitioners and enthusiasts for three expert talks and informal networking at Google AI Center Berlin.
The programme includes Google DeepMind's David Vilar on TranslateGemma and open machine translation, DeepL's Morana Perić on designing control in AI-powered translation, and University of Warwick researcher David Orrego-Carmona on why expertise still matters beyond off-the-shelf AI.
Doors and registration open at 18:30, with presentations beginning at 19:00. Drinks and snacks follow from 20:00. Capacity is limited to 60 and registration requires host approval, so request a place through the official event page. The public schedule does not state the final closing time.
