Design System and AI: Building Your Own MCP Server

MeetupFreeIntermediateDevelopersBusiness

About this event

Two practitioner talks on wiring the Model Context Protocol into a design system so AI agents work from a single source of truth, including Carrefour's Marcel MCP covering 69 components, 205 variants and 500 icons.

A Paris meetup hosted by the product consultancy Thiga on connecting the Model Context Protocol directly to a design system, so that AI agents generate interfaces from the real component library instead of guessing.

Antoine Deshoux presents Marcel MCP, built at Carrefour. It is an MCP server connecting components, design tokens and UX writing to the Figma Make language model, covering 69 components, 205 variants, 500 icons and 80 glossary terms, and generating realistic Carrefour datasets for design work.

Antoine Fornas, AI product manager at Thiga currently embedded with Canal+ teams, presents a second case study approached from a different starting problem.

The stated motivation is concrete: without this context a language model invents its own border radius values and ignores the in-house glossary, forcing manual correction in every session. The evening is aimed at product designers, design system maintainers and engineers working on AI-assisted interface generation.
