Valet and Artificial Intelligence: From Servitude to Governance

A lecture-performance on artificial intelligence governance, delivered jointly by the artist Elsa Secco and the applied mathematician Warith Harchaoui at Narratiiv School in the 11th arrondissement.

The format is described by its authors as an animated screen, two voices and a single thesis. It approaches AI through a historical lens focused on delegation and authority rather than on model capability or benchmarks. The central argument concerns how we grant AI systems permission to act, and how machine errors scale in proportion to the decision-making power handed to them.

The session closes on four practical governance levers: tracing what a system did, interrupting it mid-action, confining its scope, and cancelling its effects.
