About this event

The Pacific Northwest's largest collegiate hackathon returns to the University of Washington for a 36-hour build weekend, with AI and machine learning the dominant project category and around 100 industry mentors on site.

DubHacks is the largest collegiate hackathon in the Pacific Northwest, and its 2026 edition runs across a 36-hour weekend on the University of Washington's Seattle campus.

Scale is the defining feature. Past editions have drawn more than 1,100 participants with roughly 100 industry mentors circulating and over $44,000 in prizes. AI and machine learning has become the dominant project category, with sponsors providing AI tooling and dedicated mentorship tracks, so in practice this is now one of the largest concentrations of AI building anywhere in the region on a single weekend.

Teams that do well can continue their work through DubHacks Next, the organisation's incubator programme, which gives the event a longer tail than most hackathons.

Participation is free for accepted students, but applications are reviewed competitively and were scheduled to open in September 2026. At the time of listing the participant application had not yet gone live, with only a sponsor form available. Exact clock times were also not yet published. Check the event site in September for the application link and the finalised schedule.
