AI Policy Considerations for Food, Land, and Water Systems

The International Food Policy Research Institute hosts a public morning seminar on artificial intelligence policy as it applies to agrifood, land and water systems.

This is a corner of AI policy that gets far less attention than the frontier model debate, but it touches an enormous amount of real deployment: yield prediction, land use monitoring, water allocation, supply chain forecasting and the data governance questions that come with all of them, particularly in low and middle income countries where IFPRI does much of its work.

IFPRI is a CGIAR research centre and the session draws on its own research programme, so expect an evidence-heavy discussion rather than a speculative one.

The seminar is free and runs from 9:30 to 11:00 at IFPRI's offices on I Street NW downtown.
